Sports players who share towels, razors and ice baths are risking fatal infections, doctors warn

Sports players who share a towel, razor or even an ice bath with a team mate after a match are increasing their risk of contracting potentially fatal infections.
The infection, which usually causes boils and abscesses, is easily spread in changing rooms, an investigation at a rugby club found.
The skin condition is called PVL-MSSA. This is a strain of Staphyloccocus aureus bacteria known as Methicillin Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) which produces a toxin known as Panton-Valentine Leukocidin (PVL).
